Your county elections office will have the most up-to-date information on early voting dates and times, as well as the location of your nearest polling place. Most of those details are available no later than 30 days before an election.

Eligibility Requirements to register
In order to vote, you must first register to vote. To register to vote, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Be 18 years or older on election day,
Be a United States citizen,
Be a resident of the county where the application is submitted,
Not be finally convicted of a felony or, if so, have completed the terms of the jail sentence, probation or parole, and
Have not been declared by a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be either totally mentally incapacitated or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote.

Completing a Voter Registration Application
To register to vote, you must complete an application and submit it to the elections department. We can help you, your school, or your community group by bringing the forms to you and making sure everyone fills them out completely and accurately. Or, you can download a form here, print it, sign it, and mail it in.
Checking your Voter Registration Status
Once you’ve completed a form with our team, or on your own, you should receive a certificate in the mail indicating that you’ve successfully been added as a voter in the system. Or, you can head to the Secretary of State website here, enter your information, and see if you have a voter profile pop up, which confirms you are a registered voter.
Making a Plan to Vote
Check out the information below to learn about upcoming elections and make a plan to vote! You’ll need to know where to vote, when to vote, and what’s on your ballot. Remember, there are at least two elections every year in North Texas!
What you’ll see on your ballot in this election will depend on where you live. In order to determine what you’re voting on, you’ll need to find your personal sample ballot.
