The Next 250 Years Start Now

As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, we are not simply reflecting on the past - we are looking ahead, focused on preparing the next generation to take part in our democracy. Through civic education and peer-led outreach, we equip students with the knowledge, confidence, and real-world experience they need to show up and engage.

Democracy 250 is our year-long, 2026 campaign to expand this work, reaching more students, strengthening youth voter turnout, and growing the electorate with young, informed voters.

WHY DEMOCRACY 250?

Marking a milestone this significant is more than a celebration – it’s a call to action to shape the next 250 years. At March to the Polls, our work begins with students.

That work is already underway, beginning with the civics education we provide in the classroom and carried forward through the leadership of our Student Voter Empowerment Clubs. Students learn how our system works AND they put it into practice, leading voter outreach efforts, mobilizing their peers, and building the confidence that drives voter turnout.

By reaching students before they are eligible to vote, our work helps ensure they are ready when the time comes. Our goal is simple: to expand the electorate with informed, empowered young people.

What Your Support Makes Possible

To expand MTTP’s work and deepen our impact, the Democracy 250 campaign aims to raise $500,000, allowing us to:

Prepare students to exercise their right to vote in the 2026 midterm and 2028 presidential elections (and every election in between)
Expand the number of Student Voter Empowerment Clubs, increasing access to civic education and guiding thousands of new voters on their journey from the classroom to the polls
Increase civic engagement opportunities so young people can better understand and experience the impact of their voting decisions
Cultivate a strong sense of civic identity to develop into lifelong voters.
